Yoga Program

ABOUT

Yoga is a unique activity as it incorporates many aspects that have been shown to promote mental health and well-being including physical activity, breathing, sustained focus, community, and spirituality.

Different forms of yoga have been shown to be effective at reducing stress and improving staff well-being such as Hatha yoga and Dru yoga but many forms of yoga exist that could be delivered in a workplace. Yoga has become widespread in North American and in the workplace, yoga is often delivered by an external provider and one should be sought that has a yoga certification, experience teaching and may even be local to the area. Program delivery methods vary but evidence shows effectiveness from a weekly delivery model of at least two months.

Notes About this Intervention
  • External provider will likely need to be sought to deliver yoga workshops. Depending on the model, for it to be embedded in the workplace, the workplace may require a space large enough to offer yoga, they may choose to offer work time to engage in a yoga practice, or support an online delivery format.
