Sarnia-Lambton Home Response Collaborative invites you to join their 6th Annual Conference: Trauma, A Primer for Understanding Effects on Behaviour
This workshop is designed for anyone working with individuals who may have experienced trauma, such as domestic violence, criminal engagement, or have been victims of crime. This workshop is also designed for police, fire, EMS, front line workers and managers, human resources, animal care workers and those who may have experienced vicarious trauma.
Presented by Dr. Ruth Lanius MD, PhD
Dr. Lanius is a highly respected professional in the field of trauma and will help attendees identify and recognize trauma, develop tools to work more effectively and understand the connection between trauma & physical/ psychological impacts.
Dr. Ruth Lanius, MD, PhD, Professor of Psychiatry is the director of the posttraumatic stress disorder (PTSD) research unit at the University of Western Ontario. She is a highly regarded expert in the field of trauma and established the Traumatic Stress Service and the Traumatic Stress Service Workplace Program, services that specialized in the treatment and research of PTSD and related comorbid disorders. She currently holds the Harris-Woodman Chair in Mind-Body Medicine at the Schulich School of Medicine & Dentistry at the University of Western Ontario. She has recently published a book ‘Healing the Traumatized Self: Consciousness, Neuroscience, Treatment’ with Paul Frewen.
